Q. What is Market Day?
We're an indie craft show in Des Moines, Iowa. We've been around for eight years and over fifty shows and pop-up events. Between 30 - 70 vendors participate in each event. They are curated by our team and bring high-quality handmade and vintage goods. We see 800 - 3,000 shoppers each Market Day. Market Day is sponsored by Register Media since 2015.
Q. Where and when is Market Day?
Market Day’s 2017 Spring Handmade Market is on Saturday, May 20th from 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM in the Capital Square Atrium at 400 Locust.
Q. Where will I park?
Street parking is available (meters are off on Saturdays!), and there is a ramp at 5th and Walnut, just across the street. The Downtown Des Moines Farmer's Market runs from 7:00 AM until 12:00 PM, so parking may be more difficult at that time, but trust us, it's possible!
Q. What will I eat?
Be sure to check out the Downtown Des Moines Farmer's Market for a variety of amazing local food vendors, plus more to take home. Sidebar will be open with coffee and great bites. There are also several fine restaurants on 4th Street and Court Avenue, like Wasabi Tao, Fong’s Pizza, and The Royal Mile.
Q. Can I sit? Can I stash my coat?
There will also be ample chairs available around the space for areas to hang out and relax.
Q. Why should I come to Market Day?
There will be over 60 makers, all from Iowa and surrounding midwestern states, with handmade and vintage wares. We make posters and toys, candles and soaps, kids and adult clothing, even stuff for pets. Why WOULDN’T you come? Take a look at our Facebook page to get a peek what you'll find with us.
